Geckos can walk across walls, ceilings, and even smooth glass without using any sticky liquid or suction. Their feet are covered with millions of microscopic hair-like structures called setae, which create tiny molecular attractions known as van der Waals forces.

These forces allow geckos to stick firmly while still being able to lift their feet with ease. Scientists have used this discovery to develop new adhesive materials inspired by gecko feet. This amazing adaptation makes geckos one of nature's best climbers.
