The human body constantly produces heat as cells convert food into energy. An average ãdül† at rest generates roughly the same amount of heat as a small light bulb. This heat is produced by millions of chemical reactions happening inside the body every second.
Your body carefully regulates this temperature through processes like sweating and changing blood flow. Scientists use thermal imaging to study how heat moves across the human body. This amazing internal system allows humans to survive in many different environments.
