Mikrotik RouterOS Release

Mikrotik has released a RouterOS update to fix a "service security issue". The fact that they released one for 6.x suggests there's legitimate concern about this. Details are not clear. Apparently, PPPoE client is not compromised, so unless you have a PPPoE server running (like me), you're probably ok.

Baka meron ka pong Tutorial pano mag config ng Dual ISP po. balak ko kasi mag dual sana. kasi wala kasing Fiber sa Area ko. at naka Sim base lang po ako.

i'm sure we can figure something out. failover/backup connection ba ang gusto mo o load sharing between the 2 WAN connections?

yeah. then pwde dn po ba lagyan ng Anti Lag or gaming Prio? it is good for Sim base ISP bro?
Wala kasing Fiber Line sa Place namin.

di ako nakapag-kutingting ng router over the weekend, nagkabit ako ng antenna sa bubong, eh. hehehe i did manage to upgrade, at no issues naman so far.

meron nang nag-post dito nag QoS for tik - Mikrotik config. suggest ko lang na 'wag mong isaksak sa Q7 (Priority 1), but you can try, of course.

at isa pa, taper your expectations rin. kasi effective lang ito palabas ng router mo. yes, it will help because of your limited ISP connection, lalo na kung maraming ibang traffic na nagse-share nito. the reality is, di naman Q7 ang gaming traffic mo pagpasok sa network ng provider.

with a bit of insight on telcos all over the world, i know that is true for a lot of geographical locations. that's why business plans cost more. the biggest surprise is that for a lot of residential plans, the guaranteed throughput is 2.5 Mbps. basically, kung congested ang network, unless you're getting less than 2.5 Mbps, the provider sees it as a non-issue for the most part.

thankfully, di naman ganyan ang sitwasyon dito. obviously, magkaiba ang SLA, so kung me outage, mas mabilis ang response sa business plans. symmetrical up/down speeds used to be mostly for business plans, but we can now get 1000M/1000M, 2000M/2000M, 4000M/4000M (8000M is available in some locations). because the fibre network isn't congested, there's really not much of a temptation to get a business plan. sure, if you're running a server at home, there are obvious benefits.
