By Nick Sandoval

The private merchant indie artist and vegan advocate, who is based in the Philippines, is building a lifelong commitment to rescued animals into his entertainment work, with 8% of his annual net-profit share from his screen projects dedicated to vegan sanctuaries around the world.

CEBU CITY, Philippines — In a meaningful commitment that brings entertainment and animal welfare together, Bisaya filmmaker, auteur and vegan advocate Rod Maceda has pledged to donate 8% of his annual net-profit share from all his movie projects and drama series released through WCN to vegan animal sanctuaries worldwide.

The pledge is a continuing part of Maceda’s work in film and television. As his movie projects and drama series generate annual net profits, 8% of his own net-profit share goes to vegan sanctuaries that rescue, protect, feed and provide lifelong care for animals in different parts of the world.

The commitment places compassion at the heart of Maceda’s growing entertainment vision. Rather than treating animal welfare as a temporary campaign or a one-time charitable gesture, he is connecting it to the continuing success of his creative projects.

For Maceda, a Vegan Advocate for True World Peace, the pledge reflects a belief that entertainment can do more than tell stories.

It can also create real and lasting support for animals.

An 8% Commitment Designed to Continue

In the case of the all-new Puppy Love drama series, the 8% commitment covers Maceda’s annual net-profit share from the project and its wider commercial life.

This includes his share from PPV ticket sales and project-related merchandise such as plush toys, dolls, notebooks, posters, novelizations, mugs, jackets, T-shirts, accessories and comic books. The wider Puppy Love world also includes comic conventions, fan meet-and-greets, concerts, meditation gatherings, animal-welfare events and activities connected to Maceda’s advocacy for True World Peace.

The principle is simple: as the project continues to earn, its potential to help rescued animals continues as well.

For an independent entertainment production, it connects the long-term commercial life of a creative project with an equally long-term commitment to animal welfare.

All of his movie projects released through WCN are dubbed in multiple languages, allowing audiences across different countries, cultures and communities to experience his stories in their own languages.

His movies are dubbed in Russian, Ukrainian, Mandarin Chinese, Cantonese, Latin American Spanish, Japanese, Korean, English, Hindustani, Afrikaans, Thai, Bahasa Indonesia, Bahasa Malaysia, Javanese and Turkish.

Maceda has already seen how a locally created film can cross language barriers. His 2012 cult-classic hit, The Pattern, was dubbed in Spanish and became a major online success, reaching 5 million organic views during an earlier era of social media—before bots, automated likes and so-called social-media “fireliker” software became widespread tools for artificially inflating online engagement.

The milestone gave "The Pattern" an unusual place in Maceda’s independent filmmaking history: an indie film that found a large audience beyond its original language.

Now, more than a decade after its original success, The Pattern is being revamped as an AI-powered production for a Christmas Day 2027 release. The new version brings one of Maceda’s earlier cult hits into the emerging era of AI-assisted filmmaking while extending the international vision that has become part of his work through WCN.

That worldwide reach also gives greater meaning to Maceda’s 8% commitment. As his movies and drama series reach audiences around the world, 8% of his annual net-profit share from all his WCN movie projects and drama series goes to vegan animal sanctuaries worldwide.

Tofu and Bechay Join the Main Cast

The animal connection is also part of the world of Puppy Love itself.

Tofu, Alyssa’s real-life cat, is officially part of the main cast and also has an AI Hybrid Model for the screen. Bechay, Maceda’s pig, is likewise part of the main cast, with Tofu and Bechay appearing together in scenes throughout the project.

Their presence gives the series an unusual and deeply personal connection to Maceda’s advocacy. They are not simply background animals or promotional mascots. They are part of the story’s main cast and the larger identity of the project.

A New Bisaya Drama Series With Excitement continues to build around the 2026 release of the Puppy Love movie pilot episode through WCN PPV.

The project begins with a 60-minute movie pilot, designated Episode 0, followed by a 16-episode regular drama series, with each episode running approximately 40 minutes.

WCN PPV offers individual episodes for ₱8 per view, with nonstop repeat viewing for 24 hours inside a designated WCN Telegram VIP room for that particular episode.

Audiences may also choose a ₱88 full-series PPV ticket, which provides one month of access to the Puppy Love full-series Telegram channel. The room includes the 60-minute movie pilot and all 16 episodes of the regular series.

The all-new 2026 Puppy Love drama series is produced in real 1080p Ultra HD, designed to provide a clear viewing experience on large flat-screen televisions and monitors, including 65-inch and larger displays.

The series is created, written, produced, directed and edited by Rod Maceda for WCN PPV.

Entertainment With a Continuing Purpose

The scale of the 8% pledge grows with the success of Maceda’s projects. But its significance lies in the decision to make giving part of the structure of his creative work.

Every new movie project and drama series can reach new audiences. International dubbing carries those stories into more homes, languages and cultures. The 5 million organic views achieved by the Spanish-dubbed The Pattern showed early on that an indie film could travel far beyond its original audience. Its AI-powered 2027 revival now carries that story into a new technological era.

PPV screenings, merchandise, conventions and events allow a project to continue growing long after its first release. And through Maceda’s pledge, that growth carries something else with it: continuing support for vegan animal sanctuaries around the world.

From Cebu to audiences speaking Russian, Ukrainian, Mandarin Chinese, Cantonese, Latin American Spanish, Japanese, Korean, English, Hindustani, Afrikaans, Thai, Bahasa Indonesia, Javanese and Turkish, Maceda is building an entertainment vision that is both global and compassionate.

The stories speak in many voices. The promise behind them remains the same: 8% of Rod Maceda’s annual net-profit share from all his WCN movie projects and drama series goes to vegan animal sanctuaries worldwide.
