Encryption & Security Protocol​

All conversations utilize end-to-end encryption via the PBKDF2 algorithm. The encryption architecture operates as follows:

1. Dual-Salt Generation: Upon account creation, two distinct salts are generated: Salt #1 for authentication and Salt #2 for end-to-end encryption.
2. Authentication: The password hash derived from Salt #1 is stored server-side to handle standard user login verification.
3. Local Decryption: The password hash derived from Salt #2 is stored strictly locally on the host device. This local key is required to decrypt messages. Because the second salt and plain-text password are never transmitted or stored on the backend, data cannot be decrypted server-side.
