Key Features
- Ad-Blocking: Integrated engine prevents ad banners, prerolls, and intermissions. Whitelisting is not supported.
- SponsorBlock: Crowdsourced skipping of sponsor segments, intros, outros, and reminders. Configuration is available in settings (submission of new segments is not supported in this client).
- Picture-in-Picture (PiP): Supported via
Settings > General > Background playback. - Playback Speed: Adjustable via the gauge icon in the player; settings persist across videos.
- Casting: Requires manual linking via TV code. Navigate to
Settings > Remote controland enter the code into the mobile YouTube app underWatch on TV. - Voice Search: Requires a separate "Bridge" app and the uninstallation of the official YouTube app to intercept system intents.

Authentication Procedure
To sync subscriptions and history, users must sign in via a secondary device:- Launch SmartTube on the phone.
- Navigate to
Settings > Accounts > Sign in. - On a separate device already signed into your Google account, visit
google.com/device. - Enter the alphanumeric code displayed on the phone exactly as shown.
- Grant all requested permissions.
Known Limitations
- No native comment stability.
- Voice search and casting may vary in reliability compared to the official client.
- Casting cannot "wake" the device; the app must be open on the receiver.
- Higher playback speeds may result in frame drops on certain hardware.
