Mas stable sa lahat ng Linux desktop na nasubukan ko, lalo na may RTX 5060 GPU ako at mostly outdated ang drivers ng Ubuntu/Debian.

For basics is Bazzite for immutable OS for gaming and performance yan yung una ko gamit dati pero i prefer ko na full control sa akin. Kasi may image yan per update.

Mas maganda kung gumawa ka ng OS, pero actually pwede ka magstart from the scratch from Ublue, fully controlled siya pero wala na din bloatware. Kasi ikaw nalang mismo mag lagay ng packages by every build nalang.

For packages naman pwede ka magpili if nix, brew gusto mo kung ayaw mo galawin sa system mo(pero actually matagal talaga kung gagamitin mo rpm-ostree which is likely possible ma break na about sa packages mo) pero seperate talaga yan sa system(Sa user siya magiinstall).

Almost nadin 7 months immutable os user dince start from the scratch, pero worth it din.

So likely yung tanong sa mga users? Pwede ba mag dual boot? No. So since natry ko yan mag dual boot bawal yan sa immutable OS im same disk . Dapat may iba ka pang SSD para makasabay mo si Windows.

bazzite is atomic which means update will be downloaded in a single image... di tulad sa iba na per package which is the case in arch linux

kung gusto mo ng plug and play na distro mag immutable ka like fedora, distro from universal blue... if advanced user ka sa linux prefer arch linux...

Subjective po yung "pinaka magandang distro". Linux by default is secured. You can harden it, it is unnecessary if regular browsing lang naman ginagawa mo, and di ka mag rarun ng mga random scripts or commands online. Just use an adblocker that actually does something like uBlock Origin, and you're good. If you're paranoid, look up "ufw" or the Uncomplicated Firewall to manage your firewalls. I've been using Arch for many years now without a firewall ahahaha.

Support
  • Debian - Ito yung pinaka stable na distro. yung mga packages dito yung base ng mga popular distros like Ubuntu or Mint kasi based sila sa Debian.
  • Mint - Malaki yung community ng Mint so pag may problem ka, isang google search lang mataas yung chance na you can consider it solved
  • Ubuntu - Same with Mint, this was once the go-to distro for beginners, but Mint is the new Ubuntu
  • ZorinOS - This is the most windows-like experience na makukuha mo with good community support, and stability since it's based on Ubuntu LTS
  • Pop!_OS - If you wanna game on Linux or meron kang Nvidia graphics card, meron tong suppor out of the box, but take it with a grain of salt parin
Bleeding edge software
  • Arch - This is THE linux way of doing linux. Your computer reflects who you are kasi ikaw yung magbubuild ng system mo. Ikaw pipili ng almost lahat so yung stability nito is depende sa willingness mong magbasa ng documentation so alam mo kung pano i fix yung issue ng package na ikaw mismo yung pumili
  • EndeavourOS - This is Arch, but you don't want to deal with Arch bullsht. Easier to install, but for power user parin
  • CachyOS - This is the best linux distro in terms of performance as of writing this reply. Easy to install and with huge community. Still arch tho so need mo pa rin matuto magbasa ng documentation
  • Manjaro - This is Arch, but you'll be more hands on
Reliability / Stability
  • Fedora - This distro is mostly used sa mga enterprise machine or businesses so mas robust yung build nya. Hybrid ng bleeding edge tech and stability, but yung community support is not as huge sa distros na based sa Debian
    • Atomic desktops ng Fedora - Ito yung PINAKA stable and fool-proof na set ng distro for someone na takot masira yung machine nila after update
  • Bazzite - Fedora but more gaming-oriented, think Steam deck pero Fedora (coz Steam OS is Arch-based)
The end game of stability, reproducibility, and bleeding edge (you get the best of everything)
  • NixOS - You will code your entire machine (of course except the hardware part). Everything you do is written in a config file so alam mo lahat ng ginagawa ng machine mo. If you break something, you can always roll back to the previous version ng machine mo na gumagana. If gusto mo mag reformat and get the same exact set of application, settings, and everything ready in less than 10 mins, this will be your end game
  • Linux From Scratch - If you are masochist. Linux from scratch means you will not be spoon-fed. You do the compiling, you do the coding, you do everything.

Kung yung ibig mong sabihing maganda is yung aesthetics, hindi distro hinahanap mo, but yung Desktop Environment. That's a separate topic din.

Kaka tapos lang mag ricing.. not ArchBTW

Arch still best hanggang sa ngayon
Fedora for devs
Mint/Pop_OS/Zorin for beginners
