Sora 2 is currently only officially available in the US and Canada, and there is no Android app at this time—only iOS and the web version at sora.com, both of which may require a waitlist invite or activation code. For those outside supported regions, including users in the Philippines, a common workaround is to use a VPN to connect to a US or Canadian server on an Android device. Once connected, you can access Sora 2 via the web browser rather than through an app.
Steps to Access Sora 2 Outside the US on Android
- Download and install a reputable VPN such as E×ρréššVPN or NørdVPN on the Android device.
- Connect the VPN to a server in the US or Canada, as these are the currently supported countries.
- Open a browser on the Android device and go to sora.ᑕᕼᗩTGᑭT.com.
- Log in with an OpenAI account; if required, request access or enter any invite code received.
- Once granted, you can use Sora 2 from the browser, as there is no Android app version yet.
Important Notes
- Access may be limited if OpenAI has not yet expanded Sora 2 to your account; joining the waitlist or receiving an invite/activation code may be necessary.
- VPN usage closely mimics being in a supported country but does not guarantee immediate access without an invite or approved OpenAI account.
- Using a VPN is a widely accepted method, but make sure to comply with OpenAI's terms of service and local laws.
In summary, the only way for Android users outside the US to access Sora 2 is through a VPN connection to the US or Canada and accessing the web version, while waiting for official Android support and broader regional availability.
