Lets start with custom recovery guideAfter unlocking your phones bootloader, the real thing begins
Definitions of terms:
Custom recovery- is a replacement of your stock recovery it is much better than the stock recovery because it has a lot of features like flashing .zip and .img files without the need of pc
Odin/Eros flash tool- is a flashing tool for SAMSUNG ONLY, you can flash twrp, custom ROM, and your stock ROM.
Download Mode- this is Samsungs fastboot mode and you need Odin/eros to flash
Brick- a. Softbrick- the phone bootloops and unable to boot, can be easily fix
b. Hardbrick- your phone might not even open, 10/10 difficulty to fix, and might need a technician to fix it.
REMEMBER:
Step 1Always read carefully when downloading files for your phone, make sure that the model is the same for your phone to avoid bricks or bootloop.
ownloading your stock firmwarea. Go to your settings and check your phones model example A013G and it's build number take note of all that.
b. Search your phones model + stock firmware on Google
c. Choose samfw or samfirmware, you can also google what is the trusted website in downloading Samsung firmware.
Now choose Asia then Philippines. And then choose xtc if your using samfw.
d. Look for the firmware that has the same letters and numbers with your phones build number that you just noted and then download it(always double check!!)
e. After downloading just extract the file and you will see 4-5 files put these files in a folder
Why do this and just flash twrp?
We need this Incase we did a problem in flashing the custom recovery if you face bootloops or even hardbrick.
Before proceeding to step 2: if you don't have a pc download eros flashing tool, search it in google in your other phone, for PC users use Odin( I still don't know how to setup Odin for PC since I don't have a pc but you can watch YouTube tuturial)
In PC if your device can't be detected try downloading Samsung drivers(again idk how to set this up)
And you don't have to follow this guide 100%(just use it as a reference) the site that you got twrp at might have a specific tuturial so it's much safer to follow that guide, but for this tuturial I based it on me installing custom recovery in two Samsung phones without fail.
Step 2:The actual flashing guide
a. Check if twrp is supported with your phone, simply search (your phone model) custom recovery, always choose xda, github or reddit. Random sites mostly give wrong info.
b. After verifying that twrp is supported for your phone Unofficial or official download it(Samsung usually has many phone models with one phone, for example Samsung Galaxy a01 core there are A013G,A013F,A013M and many more, so remember to double check if it says for ... Only don't download if it says exactly your phones model or for all models download it)
REMEMBER: Unofficial twrp might have bugs so keep that in mind
b. Reboot into download mode(remember the blue/green screen do that and then press volume up don't long press)
c. Connect your phone to your PC or to your other phone via otg make sure your phone is connected to the pc your phone should appear in odin, if not download Samsung drivers
d.afyer verifying that your phone is connected go to Odin's/eros settings and uncheck auto reboot
e. Put the twrp.md5 file in AP section and flash it and wait for Odin to say pass
f. After Odin/eros says ok or pass hold volume down and then power until phone turns off quickly change volume down to up to go into recovery mode and viola twrp logo should appear
Problems that might appear with solution
Situation 1. Bootloop, phone won't boot- just reflash your stock ROM by putting the files we just downloaded into their respective slots for csc put csc no home_csc if your stock firmware includes 5 files
Situation 2 there's no recovery mode just nothing, just reflash stock ROM
Situation 3 I got this blue screen thing it won't let me boot
Solution: just force restart your phone and then press the downlaod mode keys(vol up aND down) then flash stock rom
After that you officially have twrp/custom recovery in your phone, now you can easily flash root and custom roms.
