Prayer in Buddhism and Christianity

Prayer in Buddhism
Purpose: Cultivating loving-kindness, compassion, and goodwill towards all beings.

Method: Reciting phrases with heartfelt intention.

Prayer:

May I be filled with loving-kindness.
May I be well.
May I be peaceful and at ease.
May I be happy.

May all beings be filled with loving-kindness.
May all beings be well.
May all beings be peaceful and at ease.
May all beings be happy.

May all living things be filled with loving-kindness.
May all living things be well.
May all living things be peaceful and at ease.
May all living things be happy.

May all people be filled with loving-kindness.
May all people be well.
May all people be peaceful and at ease.
May all people be happy.

May my enemies be filled with loving-kindness.
May my enemies be well.
May my enemies be peaceful and at ease.
May my enemies be happy.

Explanation:

Ang key is to recite these phrases with genuine intention and feeling. It's not just about saying the words, but about cultivating the emotions associated with loving-kindness.

Yung prayer is often practiced during meditation, para ma deepen ang experience at ma integrate nito sa daily life.

So in a literal sense, it is all about self-improvement and/or personality development.

Ngayon, kung magtatanong na bakit meron "prayer to Buddha" dahil ang praying to Buddha at praying from Christianism ay magkaiba. Yung "prayer to Buddha" is humihingi sila ng guide habang nererecite nila ang prayer.

I am confident, I am capable & I am able" or "I love myself" or "I can do this".

Meron less religious na they will use pa rin any tools for self-improvement like mantra, affirmations or anything para ma improve ang self so hindi lahat ng Christians pero meron talaga na disagree sila sa ganyan dahil naniniwala sila na only God will save you in anything.

Literal speaking, anything daw like he will help you pass the exam just pray to God, he will give you self-confidence just pray to God, he will punish the enemy for you just pray to God, he will heal you just pray to God and so and so forth.

Yung God is meron intervention talaga and you need to have relationship with him and if you do not have relationship with him, you will go to hell. Hell dahil you do not have relationship with him, tama diba? Or mali?

...kaya nga busy sila sa kaka spread ng the word of God dahil gusto nila ma convert ito at ma baptize to their own religion so as people will have relationship with him dahil kapag hindi, you literally not be saved or ika nga, you will go to hell.

More on imaginary friend, more on syota or whatever na ererely mo but kung na kaka offend ang the word 'imaginary' - use it na lang natin na real friend kaya lang, invisible nga lang siya na taga supervise kung sino mapupunta sa hell or mapupunta sa heaven. Ramdam lang nila ang presence ng God.

Ang praying nila is meron intervention, meron specific request.

Prayer:

Dear Lord,
I come before you seeking your guidance in this situation.
I am unsure of the right path to take, and I ask for your wisdom to lead me.
Please open my eyes to see the opportunities and challenges before me.
Give me the courage to follow your will, even when it's difficult.
Thank you for your promise to guide those who seek you.
In Jesus' name, Amen.

Prayer:

Lord Jesus,
I come to you in faith, asking for your healing touch.
I pray for those who are sick, suffering, or in pain.
Bring comfort to their bodies, minds, and spirits.
Strengthen their faith and give them hope.
I trust in your power to heal and restore.
In your name, I pray, Amen.

One time, if there is specific person that pray to Buddha. Ang sasabihin nila na huwag daw magpray to Buddha, kay God or Jesus raw magpray dahil sabi, they will not be saved daw.

..ang akala ko, sa Mayor sila nagrerequest then bigla in the end. Ang sabi, "....sa ngalan ng Diyos. Amen".

Iyon ang difference ng prayer ng dalawa. Totoo na meron character din in Buddhism pero kung sino naka-attain ng pagiging Buddha or Buddahood kung tawagin, doon sila humihingi ng guide. Nalimutan ko kung anong name dahil mahirap banggitin pero it serves as a guide nila habang nagrerecite ng prayer. They don't ask a specific request like in stage.... Hindi. Iba ang kanila na it goes something like this...

You have to meditate deeply and recite, "I am at peace" or "I am confident" or "May I be calm and at peace" with feelings and emotions while praying to Buddha while in Christian, it goes something like this...

"God, bigyan mo ako ng self-confidence on stage dahil mahina ang loob ko. Palakasin mo ang loob ko..." -ganun ang kanila. Example lang siya.

Prayer of forgiveness in Buddhism
" If I have harmed anyone in any way either knowingly or unknowingly through my own confusions, I ask their forgiveness.

If anyone has harmed me in any way either knowingly or unknowingly through their own confusions, I forgive them.

And if there is a situation I am not yet ready to forgive, I forgive myself for that.

For all the ways that I harm myself, negate, doubt, belittle myself, judge or be unkind to myself through my own confusions, I forgive myself. "

Prayer of forgiveness in Christian

" Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen. "

They ask forgiveness from God.

So in Buddhism is all about self-improvement, cultivating or transformation of positive inner qualities or ini-emphasize nila ang positive attributes para magkaroon ng fulfulling life with the guidance to a Buddha, Buddha means the awaken or ang mga tao na nakarating na sa Buddahood or naging Buddha na.

If you believe in God, ang forgiveness, hihingi ka ng patawad sa kanya.

God will forgive you in Christian and in Buddhism ~ I forgive myself so that I can forgive you.

Love yourself so that you can love others in Buddhism while in Christian ~ God is love and you should love him too. You should have relationship with him, kapag wala kang relationship sa kanya, you would not be saved.

One of the reason why Buddhism ay natawag na non theistic daw sila. One of the reason din why naituring ng mga ibang scholars na most tolerance ang beliefs ng Buddhism dahil pwede siya esyncretism ng ibang belief system at lahat is inclusive kahit anong beliefs.

One of the example of successful entrepreneur ay meron mga atheist na nagpapractice ng Buddhism katulad ni Mark Zuckerberg na CEO ng Facebook meta at Steve Job na CEO ng apple. Successful sila dalawa.

~some, sasabihin nila na trust in God daw na keyso not the right time muna daw ibibigay or ang sasabihin nila hindi pa panahon or iba, ang sasabihin na it is a test from God.

God kasi, meron taga intervention. As a result, hindi mo masisi ang iba na bakit meron nagiging theist Satanist. Alam niyo iyon? Meron kasi sila good vs evil po eh.

Lahat ng duty, you know, inasa na kay God so kung tao pa iyan at maraming request, malamang sa duty niya, mababaliw na siya sa dami trabaho at request ng mga tao but since God, sabi, all powerful, nakaasa lahat nga sa kanya.

...but mas super dooper mahirap ang trabaho ng Goddess. Sa Goddess, ke good and evil, ililigtas niya.

On your own na sila, ecultivate at edevelop ang self nila and if they need a guide, call them, then andiyan na sila to guide. Ganun naman ang kanila. It's like less duty ang deity nila. Ayaw nila ng too much burden sa job na ipapataw sa kanila. Haha 😆

Ganun katindi.

Meron kasi ako nabasa na meron isang lalake na in danger raw ang life niya sa isang lalake na meron evil intention sa kanya. Evil daw siya. Nagdasal raw ang lalake kay Goddess para iligtas siya so bumaba daw ang Goddess and then, nakipagseks raw ang Goddess na iyon sa lalake na evil. Ang lalake na iyon naging good. Naging good as in and then, dinala ng Goddess ang lalake na naging good into heaven. Hindi nakakapagtaka na bakit wala sila concept of hell. Ang meron concept of hell is from God.

Ang God, ang worldview of God natin, duty niya taga filter na kung sino ang good na dadalhin niya in heaven at kung sino evil na epupunish niya. Mahirap man ang trabaho niya pero mas mabigat ang trabaho ng Goddess since dati-rati, nabasa ko na seks is a gateway to heaven ang kanila. Ngayon, seks is a gateway to hell nang meron na tayo God. Kaya ang concept of God natin, without seks talaga iyan and it consider evil and dirty na po ang seks.

I remember, I think, iyan ang reason why natawag dati na feminine sexual superiority but of course, ngayon, hindi na. More on pro-creation na tayo. You know, to procreate.

Alam niyo iyon? Meron evil attention and they blame it. Ang sasabihin nila na they give respect sa katawan ng babae, kung kaya, huwag makitaan ng single skin para hindi maakit pero excuse ang nakikita ko because they portraying already na how evil po at destruction ang katawan ng babae po.

Politically, kung meron sila respect sa babae talaga, absolutely, wala sila malice dapat iyan ke nakah(u)bad man ang babae or wala. No malice dapat iyan. No evil intention dapat iyan. Ang sabihin nila, dinidisrespect na po nila at nawala na po ang value, iyan po ang dahilan ever since inangat na po ng majority of people ang one and only God.

Iyan ay kung politika ang usapan pero in a bible sense lang naman, in the bible, evil siya. God is true.
