12. Prime technical factors under control of the radiographer include exposure factors such as kVp, mAs, and time, as well as positioning factors like patient placement, alignment, and collimation.

13. The distance from the anode focal spot inside the x-ray tube to the IR is the Source-to-Image Distance (SID).

14. To compensate for an increase in OID (Object-to-Image Distance), the radiographer can increase the SID or adjust the technique factors (kVp, mAs) to maintain image quality.

15. Four reasons to angle the central ray include avoiding superimposition of structures, better visualization of certain anatomical features, reducing magnification of structures, and improving image detail in specific areas.

16. Collimation serves two main purposes: reducing patient dose by limiting the area exposed to radiation to only the anatomy of interest, and improving image quality by reducing scatter radiation and enhancing contrast.

17. Anatomic position refers to the standard reference position in which the body is standing upright, facing forward, with arms at the sides and palms facing forward. It is used as a baseline for describing the orientation of body parts and structures.
