But Alvarez believes the prohibition refers only to consecutive presidential terms. “It refers to the sitting or incumbent president not allowed for reelection,” he stated.

Just for discussion, binanggit ko yang federalism kung sakali lang may mag-push ulit, dahil yung last account ko sa supposedly draft constitution ni DU30 last 2018? (not sure of the date and authenticity of the claims). It mentioned provisions abolishing the 6-yr term to "4 years and one re-election" or "2 consecutive 4-year terms" from other sources. But the essence is there related to the limits. If I'm wrong, I stand corrected. Alam mo naman sa net, hindi lahat, eksaktong totoo yung nababasa natin he he.

Dyan sa nakuha kong leaked 2018 federalism constitution document, edited na lahat ng terms ng public officials hanggang presidente, bukod pa sa ibang mga inalis at binagong amendments to fit the federal system, like the anti-political dynasties section na excluded na. Di ba wala pang pumasa ni isang bill hanggang ngayon to support Art.2 Section 26 (APD) sa ating existing constitution?

SECTION 4. (a) The President and the Vice President shall be elected by direct vote of the
people for a term of four (4) years, which shall begin at noon on the thirtieth day of June
next following the day of the election and shall end at noon on the same date four (4) years
thereafter. Both the President and Vice President shall be eligible for reelection to one (1)
term.
(b) A person who has succeeded to the offce of the President and has served as such for at
least two (2) years and has been elected as President for a fresh term shall be ineligible for
election to the same offce at any other time.
(c) The President and the Vice President shall be elected as a team. A vote for the presidential
candidate shall be counted as a vote for his vice presidential candidate.
(d) The returns of every election for President and Vice President, duly certifed by the board
of canvassers of each Federated Region, shall be transmitted to the Congress, directed to
the President of the Senate. Upon receipt of the certifcates of canvass, the President of the
Senate shall, not later than thirty (30) days after the day of the election, open all certifcates

Yes, dahil sa ngayon, yung existing/active laws pa rin ang nasusunod he he. Ban pa rin yung mga former presidents from re-election like DU30.
Ang masasabi ko lang, the thread title is just a political ploy for something to occur by the DU30 supporters till we reach the 2028 polls. Alvarez and his camp is just doing his part. Anything can happen!

Though officially hindi kasama sa qualification yung age and health in choosing a candidate for a president, it also must be considered by the voter dahil malaking responsidilidad yung posisyon pati duties and responsibilities nya. Kahit nga sa common company positions kasama yan. Kung mag-apply ka lalo pa sa masesekang trabaho at mataas ang sahod, inaalam nila muna kung kaya mo physically, mentally, emotionally, etc. bago ka nila tanggapin para less problems in the future. Dapat, total package ka. I mentioned it since I'm one of them. Senior na ako pero well-experienced in my line of work as a process and operations specialist. But I have health issues na kahit ano pa ang gawin ko, slows me down in the long run. I don't want to fail my employer on my contract. That's why I have to retire and seek other jobs that fit my condition. Get the idea? Pero nasa inyo na yung pasya in your terms.
