Former President Rodrigo Duterte reiterated that he took full responsibility for his administration's bloody war on drugs.

During the eleventh public hearing of the House Quad Committee on Wednesday, November 13, House Assistant Minority Leader and Gabriela Women's Party Rep. Arlene Brosas questioned Duterte on his accountability for the controversial anti-drug campaign.

"Sinabi niya po na full responsibility, so totoo ba 'yan?" Brosas asked.

In response, Duterte firmly asserted his stance: "Very correct. Since I was the president and there was this, until now, serious problem about drugs, I had to issue or make a policy statement about drugs. And all that happened, 'yung nangyari pursuant to my order to stop the drug problem in this country—akin 'yun, akin na akin 'yun. Ako ang nagbigay ng order, kese ginawa nila îllégâl or legal, akin 'yun. I take full responsibility for it."

Trillanes identified businessmen Michael Yang, Charlie Tan, and Sammy Uy among the alleged personalities, who were working closely with Duterte in these alleged drug operations, based on the affidavits of then police colonel Eduardo Acierto and ex-Customs Intelligence Officer Jimmy Guban.

He said Duterte made the mistake of opening a joint account with his daughter, Vice President Sara Duterte, for these alleged transactions. “We all know that (cases of) impeachment are exempted in the Bank Secrecy Law,” Trillanes said.

Trillanes described the evidence he presented at the Quad Comm panel as the “******* gun” on the extent of the Dutertes’ alleged involvement in the îllégâl drug trade, saying the banks have soft and hard copies of the said financial records.

“We concluded that the [drug war] was fake. He created the war on drugs to protect (the members of) his syndicate—Michael Yang, Sammy Uy and Charlie Tan,” according to the former senator. He claimed the Dutertes were trying to ‘eliminate the competition’ when they were ruling Davao City.

Trillanes said he acquired the information during the campaign period. He said that became the basis of his plunder case against Duterte in 2016. Later, he proposed to the joint panel to draft the bank secrecy waiver immediately and make the former president sign it.

i don't believe duterte can be a drug lord, yung possible na papaniwalaan ko is yung mga anak niya ang drug lords at pino-protektahan niya, family comes first pa din naman, that being said, i don't think na hindi seryoso si duterte sa war on drugs niya, mas maniniwala pa ako na na-compromise lang ang prinsipyo niya for the sake of family, the way he reacted when Sara asked QuadCom to let her father go, it clearly suggest na meron pa ring sariling prinsipyo si digong at possible na napipilitan lang siya na itaguyod ang pamilya niya
