Hello! When closing your business, there are several steps you need to take regarding your business permit and BIR (Bureau of Internal Revenue) registration. Here are the general steps you may need to follow:

1. Notify the BIR: You need to inform the BIR of your business closure. You can do this by filing a BIR Form 1905 (Application for Registration Information Update). You need to indicate that you are closing your business and provide the necessary details. Make sure to settle any outstanding taxes or obligations you have with the BIR before closing.

2. Cancel your Business Permit: Contact your local government unit or city hall where you obtained your business permit. They will provide you with the necessary forms and instructions for canceling your business permit. Make sure to settle any outstanding fees or taxes you owe to the local government.

3. Settle Financial Obligations: Before closing your business, make sure to settle all financial obligations with suppliers, creditors, and employees. This includes paying outstanding bills, salaries, and any other financial commitments.

4. Inform Employees: If you have employees, you need to inform them of the business closure. Follow the labor laws in your country regarding employee termination, final pay, and benefits.

5. Dispose of Assets: Decide what you will do with the assets of your business. You may need to sell them to settle any outstanding debts or obligations. Make sure to follow the proper procedures for asset disposal.

6. File Final Tax Returns: Once you have settled all financial obligations, file your final tax returns with the BIR. This includes income tax returns and any other required forms.

7. Keep Records: Keep copies of all the documents related to your business closure for your records.

It's advisable to consult with a business advisor, accountant, or legal professional to ensure you follow all the necessary steps correctly and comply with all legal requirements. Business closure can be a complex process, so getting professional advice can help make the process smoother.
