PHOn 27 June in Brussels, Ukrainian president Zelensky admitted they cannot sustain a prolonged war with Russia even after the $350 billion or so in military aid from the West.
Zelensky even highlighted the fact they have lost so many Ukrainian troops either dead or wounded in a desperate attempt to drag America and NATO into the war.
His appeal to the US and NATO sounds like asking them to send their own troops to Ukraine and engage Russia.
The desperation of Zelensky will never prod the US and NATO to do what he wants which is short of asking NATO to declare war against Russia. They have learned the lessons of their own history — unlike us Filipinos.
This is the unfortunate and sad reality of being an American proxy to a war the Americans themselves cooked up for at least 20 years, the culmination of which is the destruction of Ukraine as a country and society unfolding right in front of our very own eyes.
When we Filipinos don’t wake up to this reality, there will be a time the entire world will see Bongbong Marcos doing and saying exactly the same thing as Zelensky did in this video.
