Yes, dati syang US official but that doesn't mean na exempted sya sa pagsisinungaling or black propaganda. The question is how would we know na wala syang hidden agenda sa statements nya? how would we verify na pure ang intention nya at facts lang yung sinasabi nya at hindi propaganda?
He even mentioned na China is our friend. What kind of friend yung nag ooccupy ng lupa ng kaibigan mo?

Ahmmm. It's a disputed area and also, not only china ang nagtatayo ng infra jan sa WPS kuno. So kung sabihin mo na what kind of friend ang mag occupy ng lupa ng kaibigan mo it is also applies to Vietnam?right?Mas madaming naipatayong infra at nakuhang islet ang bansang Vietnam. Di naman ganun kabigat o wala namang value yung quote nya na China Is Our Friend. I mean just read the whole statement at dun ka magfocus kaysa dun sa nag iisang china is our friend na quote na opinionated lang.
Isa pa nagwarning lang naman si Ritter satin na ginagamit lang tayo ng US. Masama ba yun?Wala naman syang sinabi na pumunta at sumuporta tayo sa China instead of US.

Vietnam and the Philippines have one common enemy. We don't know what are the plans of both of this countries to deter the aggressor that is trying to change the status quo. About Ritter, like I said we don't know if his intention is pure or just a propaganda. Okay, let us say that Ritter has pure intention to warn us. At this current state were the Philippines has limited military equipment, and not to mention some are outdated, what can we do at this point? Take note, the aggressor is not gonna just sit and watch. If we are upgrading our military equipments, What do you think the other party will do? It will not just upgrade their equipment but create a hundred fold of that upgraded "equipment". They are even vocal to take Taiwan by force. Comparing the military equipments of Taiwan to Philippines, we are just far left behind. Take note, the aggressor has nukes too. As far as I know, we don't even have the capability to stop drone attacks from the aggressor.
About the Philippine-US relationship, Okay let us say that the US is "using" the Philippines. Don't you see it as a symbiotic relationship? Both of these countries are "using" each other to live or to move forward? Worst case scenario, US will use the Philippines as a proxy state (like what is happening in Europe) and in return will supply their military equipment to the Philippines. So both countries are benefiting each other. At this state, we don't have a choice but to choose between this two major power why? because the other major power is aggressively expanding their territory.
