Contrivances are traits or structures in living organisms that have evolved through natural selection to serve a specific purpose. These traits are often complex and highly specialized, and they are evidence of the gradual process of evolution by natural selection.

For example, the wings of birds are a contrivance that has evolved for the purpose of flight. The feathers, bones, and muscles that make up the wings are all highly specialized structures that have evolved over millions of years through natural selection. The same can be said for other complex structures in living organisms, such as the eyes of vertebrates, the jaws of predators, and the digestive systems of herbivores.

Contrivances are evidence of evolution because they demonstrate the gradual process of adaptation and specialization that has occurred over millions of years. They also provide insight into the selective pressures that have shaped the evolution of living organisms. By studying contrivances, scientists can better understand the mechanisms of evolution and the diversity of life on Earth.

Solution
dagdag ko na din that the early life does not depend on oxygen until lungs have developed which indicates the modern lives now depend on oxygen, so yeah lot of structures evolve on the purpose of environment adaption for an ultimate goal of survival
