No. “To seat” is a transitive verb, which requires an object. The sentence does not have one. The speaker may be thinking of the intransitive verb “to sit.” It can be used in the example sentence “May I sit?”

Valid sentences using “seat” could be:
  • May I be seated? (“Seated” is the past participle of the verb.)
  • May I take a seat? (Here “seat” is a noun.)
  • May I have a seat? (Here “seat” is a noun.)
  • May I seat myself? (Here “seat” is a verb. “Myself” is the object of the verb.)
