Chapter 391 Spoilers
Chapter Summary
The Xi-Yu family people split into two groups. Zakuro and Lynch search for Hisoka while Hinrigh chases the pretty girl from Heil-Ly. Zakuro's ability is explained: each drop of his blood has eyes and can be used for reconnaissance. The blood drops can move around until they run out of fuel (Nen), which is around 30 to 40 minutes.
Hinrigh checks the cameras of some passengers until he finds a photo that captured the Heil-Ly girl walking into Passage #64. He borrows the camera from the passengers (paying them money for insurance), and turns it into a cat to watch over the passageway.
Three Heil-Ly guys tail Hinrigh. They seem wary of Hinrigh because of his En, which has a radius of around 5 meters. One of them (name: Padoille?) who is a Conjurer volunteers to go first. His ability turns his body into weapons.
Padoille's surprise attack from behind fails as Hinrigh incapacitates him using handcuffs, which he has turned into surveillance pigeons beforehand. A fight ensues, but Hinrigh effortlessly kills Padoille. The remaining two guys from Heil-Ly escape and go back to await orders from Morena.
Chapter 391: Clash (Part 2)
Flavor text: A rigged friendly fire!!
Crowd:
"What happened!?"
"Uwaaah"
"The soldiers shot each other!?"
"Medic!! Also someone call the other soldiers here!!"
Zakuro:
"Well then, we'll look for Hisoka as planned."
Hinrigh:
"Counting on you guys. Remember, even if you guys found Hisoka, don't do anything until you get in touch with me. I'll chase that woman while fishing for the Heil-Ly thugs on this tier."
Zakuro & Lynch:
"Aye aye."
They enter a quiet corridor
Zakuro:
"Good, looks like nobody's here."
He splatters his blood on the wall. The blood droplets gain sentience and start scattering
Lynch:
"Ew. I just can't get used to that! So gross!"
Zakuro:
"What, they're so cute!"
Lynch:
"Gross!"
Zakuro:
"Your reaction makes me sad... Have some respect for my blood, please. Each little drop is hard at work trying to find Hisoka. Spunky little guys, don't you think?"
Lynch:
She catches one droplet and examines it. Droplet-kun squeaks.
"Ew. They really do have eyes."
She crushes the droplet between her two fingers. Droplet-kun reforms and squeaks again.
"Ew. So how do I kill this thing?"
Zakuro:
"Why are you trying to kill it anyway? It's Nen, so when it runs out of battery (read: aura) it will return to normal blood. The thing lasts like 30 to 40 minutes."
Lynch:
"So when this little guy finds someone suspicious I'll just pummel the information out of them right?"
Zakuro:
"... You're asking the same thing every time... You don't pay much attention to me do you, Lynch? Not that I mind."
Hinrigh:
He arrives at a large hall full of passengers taking pictures. He walks toward a soldier.
"Hey."
Apparently, Hinrigh asks the soldier to get the passengers to cooperate.
Soldier:
He calls at a couple with a selfie stick.
"Excuse me. Please cooperate in our investigation."
Hinrigh:
He checks the pictures in the couple's phone.
"Don't see her here. Go next."
Hinrigh and the soldier go around asking several groups for their cameras. Finally, he finds the Heil-Ly girl caught on Colonel Sanders's camera.
"Bingo...!"
"(It's the passageway from the general passenger room area. I bet they are also monitoring traffic since it's the only passenger lane here... Although we know their Boss's (read: Morena's) face, and we should also be able to tell the rest of them apart by their aura... It's best if I can list up all 23 of their members as soon as possible.)"
Hinrigh hands cash to the Colonel Sanders couple.
Colonel Sanders:
"I, isn't that too much!?"
Hinrigh:
"I'll confiscate this as important evidence for now. That money is insurance just in case something happens to it under our custody."
Hinrigh thanks the soldier for his cooperation and leaves. He transforms the camera into a cat.
"Well then, I'll count on you to record everything here."
Catmera-chan meows. Hinrigh presses the catmera button and it starts recording the area around Passage #64. Hinrigh walks away with pigeons surrounding him.
"(It would be nice if all of the Heil-Ly thugs are hiding in the passenger room area, but that's not likely. Now that their benefactor (the 4th Prince) has cut ties with them, the Heil-Ly Family are unrestrained. Who knows what they are up to...! What is their goal...? A coup d'etat by the Second Rakers...? That would make sense...! After all, this is a golden chance for the oppressed to unleash the grudge they have held for years. Even the current massacre makes sense if you think about it as practice for the real deal.)"
Three Heil-Ly men are watching Hinrigh from afar
Develaress:
"...There he is. Hinrigh, the underboss of the Xi-Yu Family. He's taking us lightly, going solo like that... The three of us should be able to take him."
Quoroll:
"The air around that guy is srsly tense. That the "En" thing? He'll srsly notice us if we are anywhere within like 5 meters."
Padouille:
"I'll initiate. You guys, like, watch for an opening and finish him off."
Quoroll:
"That's so srsly vanilla. What about using our pistols?"
Develaress:
"Well it might just distract him a bit. BTW we get 10 levels if we kill a Nen user right? How do you split that among three?"
Padoille:
"Simple, all 10 levels go to the guy who seals the deal."
Quoroll:
"Srsly? It's obviously contribution-based, srsly."
Develaress:
"Who's gonna judge the contribution level?"
Quoroll:
"The Boss, of course. She's the progenitor of our abilities after all. Won't be surprised if she can track all of our movements as the game master."
Padoille:
"Such a drag. We'll find out real soon. I'm happy as long as I can kill."
The three of them start approaching Hinrigh. Padoille (Lv. 29 Conjurer) is a demolition worker. Quoroll (Lv. 22 Emitter) is a mechanic. Develaress (Lv. 24 Enhancer) is a civil engineer.
Padoille:
"(If I could be reborn, I'd like to be a weapon. Then I'd feel all it by myself. The skin!!! The blood!!! The flesh!!! All those sensations directly as I kill my prey!)"
*Padoille turns his right arm into a hammer. Ability name: Weapon Madness. Subtitle: Gonna Pummel You Now.)
Padoille:
"(That's what I've always wanted. Thanks to Morena, I had my wish granted in this lifetime...!! For Morena's sake and for mine, I will do my best... to murder.)"
Padoille briskly walks toward Hinrigh. He takes a swing, but is surprised to find that his arm has been arrested by a pigeon.
Hinrigh:
"(I turn handcuffs into pigeons... and have them on the lookout...!)"
"That ability of yours looks kind of pointless, no?"
The pigeon flies around Padoille's left wrist and snaps into place, returning to normal handcuffs. Both Padoille's arms are cuffed behind his back now.
Hinrigh:
"What about you two over there? Would be nice if you'd come over here and make this easy for me. Would be even nicer if you'd call for backup. I still have plenty of 'pigeons', you see."
Quoroll and Develaress start blasting at the pigeons. It's not very effective.
Hinrigh:
"(chuckles) These guys are originally handcuffs. And they are guarded by aura on top of that. Gonna take more than guns to kill them, you know?"
Meanwhile, Padoille turns his right arm into a drill, allowing it to slip out of the handcuffs. He lunges at Hinrigh, who notices and manages to block in time with his left hand.
Hinrigh:
"I... see! So you can pick and choose from a variety of weapons...!!"
Padoille:
"You know what else has variety!? The sensation of each person's dying moments!!"
Hinrigh kicks Padoille away. Another pigeon cuffs Padoille's left leg and snaps into the first handcuff on his left wrist.
Hinrigh
"Now, what are you gonna do? Oh look, your friends are staying away. Are they abandoning you? Poor chap."
Padoille:
"...Don't **** around with me!"
"(I'll do something about this myself!! Just have to cut the links... with an axe!!!)"
Padoille turns his right arm into an axe. But Hinrigh blitzes and sinks Padoille's axe into the back of his own head. Padoille groans.
Hinrigh
"Think I'd let you? But rejoice. Now you can feel the sensation of both the killer and the killed, at the same time."
Padoille:
"Ooh... yes..."
Padoille hits the floor. Quoroll and Develaress retreat into the crowd, which has burst into a commotion.
Hinrigh
"Tsk, I'd have liked to capture them and settle things quietly."
"(Counting on you, Misha! I can't have myself detained here, after all.)"
Quoroll:
"Those pigeons are srsly OP. What do we do now?"
Develaress:
"Gonna be a real mess if he captures and interrogates us for our hideout's location. Let's await instructions from Morena."
