1. A ladder leans against a wall. The foot of the ladder is 5 feet from the base of the wall. The ladder reaches a height of 12 feet on the wall. Find to the length of the ladder.
Understand the problem:
a. What geometric figure can be drawn from the problem?
b. What theorem comes out to your mind to solve the problem?
Devise a plan:
c. Draw a diagram showing the wall leaning against the wall and make the necessary labels and mark x as the unknown.
d. What is now our working equation?
e. Final answer: the ladder is feet tall.
