We haven't had any issues over the course of development. It's just delayed for now since our team member working on this is quite busy with his job.

It's already on openwrt if it matters. This is just adding mainline support

It isn't possible as of now. It's possible to do a custom build for this but it isn't in the plans. We can consider looking into this if there's enough interest. We don't have any guarantee for this as this is just our hobby.
