Starlink WiFi, the newest internet provider here in the Philippines, is owned by multi-millionaire and Tesla founder Elon Musk. It allows you to use the internet via strategically placed satellites above without having to rely on the congested local infrastructure as it is connected straight to the satellite network above.

Recently, the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) approved the plan of Space X to put Starlink WiFi systems in vehicles. This means that the Starlink WiFi home service found in 32 countries may go mobile and will be available in the vehicle that you might be driving soon. They may also show up in planes and trains… and even boats.

Before the FCC's approval, Starlink partnered with Delta and Hawaiian Airlines to provide internet services. They also have been placing receiver dishes on Tesla Supercharger stations and have even unveiled a USD 500 USD (or PHP 27,546) a month premium tier service that raised people's eyebrows.

The FCC pointed out that the public interest would benefit by granting the new service. This will introduce a new class of terminals from the Space X system and will expand the range of broadband. This will address the customers' need for connectivity while on the move.

With the announcement and Starlink WiFi now available locally, we may soon get the newer system locally. Not just in our homes but also in our vehicles.

sana hindi presyong ginto ang monthly subscription nila. tingin ko, bababaan din nila ang presyo para makasabay sa market at kung hindi, hindi magiging maganda ang outcome ng negosyo nila sa pilipinas.
