By nitpicking the channels and distributing them in a secure way, you limit the risk of the owner finding out. The registration page has no captcha or whatsoever. That is a clear indication of their incompetency with regards to preventing automated signups. That as well, clearly indicates that they are not capable of snooping who logs in to their system.

It is a different case for a rogue APK however. You may have a rough idea already how badly it can be abused and circulated around most esp. in FB. Take FP as an example. And its demise after being so.
