From the massive 35-inch all-terrain tires, huge fender flares, strengthened chassis, and Bilstein Performance suspension, it had all the makings of a (very) capable pick-up truck.

Combined with its powerful 3.0-liter 4JJ3-TCX or 1.9-liter RZ4E turbo-diesel engines, the Isuzu D-Max with AT35 package can just about take on anything Mother Nature throws at it. But what if you prefer your D-Max AT35 with the creature comforts of camping?

Well, Isuzu and Arctic Trucks recently revealed a souped-up version of the already capable pick-up. Say hello to the AT35 Basecamp, a D-Max that comes complete with all of the equipment you'll need for a campsite.

Recently revealed at this year's Commercial Vehicle Show in the UK, this particular D-Max AT35 comes with an iKamper mini roof tent that can be accessed via a ladder. It can accommodate a total of 2 people, comes with built-in insulation, and even has a window.

Also worth mentioning about the truck is its unique Gearmate hardtop canopy placed on the rear bed. It has gullwing-type side and rear doors that houses an enclosed cargo area, along with a roller drawer system by ARB Outback Solutions. Not only does it offer luggage space, but it also has a built-in fridge and a slide-out kitchen complete with a gas stove and a collapsible sink.

Last but not least, the Basecamp has a rack system on the roof that will allow campers to store gas, water, and fuel containers with ease. It can also hold recovery boards at the top which saves some space for personal items that can be placed in the hardtop canopy.

Under the hood, the D-Max AT35 Basecamp for the UK market is only available with the 1.9-liter RZ4E turbo-diesel engine. It makes 164 PS with 350 Nm of torque and can be mated to either a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission. In true Arctic Truck fashion, the Basecamp comes with a four wheel drive system.

This kitted-out pick-up truck may be a one-off special, but those who want to trick out their D-Max can make the modifications themselves based on what Arctic Trucks did to the D-Max AT35 Basecamp.

Envious? Let us know how you plan to turn your pick-up truck into the ultimate go-anywhere camping truck.
