Yes! Drinking milk helps to make your teeth stronger and is thought to protect tooth enamel by providing calcium and phosphorus needed to remineralize tooth structure. It also keeps your jaw bones strong and healthy. Other important contributors to tooth and bone health are cheese, meats, green vegetables and nuts.
One important factor to consider is avoiding milk right before bed unless you brush your teeth afterwards. Babies and toddlers should not be put to bed with a bottle either as the milk pools around their teeth, causing cavities.
Milk contains the natural sugar lactose, which can causes these cavities. Make sure to only drink water between the time you brush your teeth and the time you go to sleep to keep your mouth healthy and happy.
