PHThe Gabriela party-list on Monday filed a certificate of nomination and acceptance (CONA) for Eleksyon 2022 before the Commission on Elections at the Harbor Garden Tent of Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila.
Gabriela was represented by incumbent Representative Arlene Brosas. The CONA was filed at 10:51 a.m.
In her speech after the filing, Brosas said Gabriela is participating in the elections to ensure the welfare of women will be given attention.
"Buong tikas na itutuloy ng Gabriela Women's Party ang paglahok sa halalan para isulong ang mga batas na mag-aangat ng kalagayan ng kababaihan sa iba't ibang antas," she said.
(With pride, the Gabriela Women's Party is continuing to participate in the elections to push for laws that will lift the welfare of women in all levels.)
Brosas said the party has made its stand against the TRAIN law and anti-terror law, and it will not hesitate to make its voice heard amid the cases of abuse, worsening poverty, and corrupt health system they have seen.
"Walang dahilan na manahimik ang mga kababaihan," she added.
(There is no reason for women to be silent.)
Aside from Brosas, Gabriela's other nominees are Dr. Jean Lindo, a medical doctor and environmentalist; and Lucy Francisco, a consumer rights defender. —KG, GMA News
