Whether you love them raw, fried, or on the half shell, oysters can provide you with a host of health benefits, among them, high levels of heart and brain-boosting omega-3 fatty acids and enough zinc (the aphrodisiac mineral). Oysters are also naturally high in many essential vitamins and minerals including iron, calcium, and vitamin C.
However, oysters are best consumed sparingly, because they have a few major nutritional drawbacks. Avoid them entirely if you suffer from seafood allergies.
