It’s important that students (and employees) understand the reality. A G Suite account provided to you by a business or school does not belong to you. It belongs to the corporation or school, they simply allow you use it, just as they allow you to use the campus and buildings and other university assets. There is no reasonable “expectation of privacy”. They can do anything they want with that account, including deleting it.
If you look up the agreement you (almost certainly) signed - and actually read it, you will likely find legalese to this effect.
If the account is in a .edu domain, then yes, university admins can see anything and everything about it. Pics, Texts, Emails, Google Drive content, Keep notes, Calendar… Everything.
However, chances are busy admins will never bother to look at anything on your account, unless it is somehow flagged or brought to their attention. University privacy policies may set specific circumstances or conditions required before they can do so. Last but not least, most admins could care less about your personal life. They don’t want to know. There are always exceptions of course, voyeurs do exist.
The takeaway? It’s not your account! You don’t own it. Don’t think of it as yours, don’t expect privacy. And if you are doing something with “your” Google Drive that is against Google or school policy, or worse, against the law… you can expect there will be repercussions. Sooner or later.
