If you look at the current Maserati line-up, it's more diverse than ever. There have two sport sedans, a grand tourer, and even a crossover. However, one model they're missing is a supercar.

Displayed during the 2021 Bangkok International Motor Show, the 2021 MC20 ushers in a new age of supercars for Maserati. The sleek, carbon-fiber body is the result of 2,000 hours of wind tunnel tests. It features a large front grille with the prominent Trident badge, massive alloy wheels wrapped in low-profile tires, sleek LED headlights and taillights, and air vents. But perhaps serving as the centerpiece of the MC20 are its butterfly doors, a befitting feature for an Italian supercar.

A fully-digital instrument panel, as well as a D-cut steering wheel, greet drivers when they first enter the MC20. Meanwhile, sport bucket seats, neat touches of leather, and Alcantara, along with carbon fiber trim, further give the MC20 its sporting pedigree.

Other available amenities present in the MC20 include a touchscreen infotainment system, an electro-mechanical gear selector, a drive mode selector, steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters, a wireless phone charger, and blue accents on the doors and seat covers.

At the heart of the MC20 is a 3.0-liter twin-spark, twin-turbo V6 dubbed 'Nettuno' (or Neptune). The engine makes a staggering 630 PS at 7500 rpm and 730 Nm of torque at 3000 – 5500 rpm. Mated to an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, the MC20 can go from 0 – 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 325 km/h.

With the MC20 now in Thailand, it might not be long before Maserati eventually brings it to the Philippines. Besides, this model was over a decade in the making.
