MANILA — De La Salle University spiker Des Cheng could be out for UAAP Season 78 after tearing her ACL in an exhibition game in Ozamiz City in Mindanao Saturday.
Cheng suffered the injury in a bad fall as the Lady Spikers competed against each other before hundreds of fans at the La Salle University in Misamis Occidental.

“ACL, PCL and big bone bruise kay Des,” said one of Cheng’s teammates, who requested anonymity due to the sensitivity of the matte, of the incoming junior’s injury.

Cheng is the third Lady Spiker to suffer a major knee mishap in the past four months, following former UAAP MVP Ara Galang and reserve spiker Camille Cruz — both of whom tore their ACL during the UAAP Season 77 playoffs.

With a recovery period of six to eight months, Cheng is in danger of missing the next UAAP women’s volleyball tournament, which is expected to start in January 2016. —Rivals 2015

8 months?

:shifty: :shifty:
