Official #forbidden# statement by KissAnime Support circulating post on Facebook

According to the circulating post via Facebook which includes a screenshot of Kissanime's official #forbidden# server stating the announcement regarding the closure of their website, they revealed that all the files and the web beta server were taken down by the copyright owners resulting to their decision to close the website forever.

"Our beta server have been taken down, this could lead to the closure of the website. We will make more announcement after we have the decision", Kissanime Support's announced at 6:19 AM JST.

"All files are taken down by copyright owners. KissManga and KissAnime will be closed forever. Thank you for your supports... Thank you to those years.", their message after 4 hours at 10:20 AM JST

It was reported June of this year that Japan's parliament enacted the proposed revised copyright law to expand the law to punish those who knowingly download illegally uploaded or pirated manga, magazines, and academic works.

The revised law will go into effect on January 1, 2021 and penalties for repeat offenders of îllégâl downloads will be up to two years in jail or a maximum fine of 2 million yen (about Php 1 million), or both. Penalties for those operating îllégâl sites include up to five years in jail or a maximum fine of 5 million yen (about Php 2.5 million), or both.

As other answers have explained better, there is also one simple point. After KissAnime is taken down, another appears, just with a different domain.

Imagine the “servers” in UK get taken down, soon after maybe a month or less another “server” appear in the USA or in Japan. So they just continue creating more and more “servers” - Tatsuya uchiha from MAL

yep, kissanime staffs are bunch of greedy bastards, and tbh they deserve it.

for one thing is that they don't give credits to scanlators from kissmanga
they also s†éál other scanlators translations
the site bombard you with adwares(if you don't have adblocker)
and even if you do have adblocker, you'll get IP banned (tho i haven't been blocked since i use ublock origin)
they rip episodes from other sources and place their own logo at the top

tho it's true they got anime that other pìrâ†é sites don't have, that still doesn't justify their greed.


pero normal naman na isipin ng tao na copyright sila since sa anime law ng japan(which is 8 years na, hindi new). also, walang power yung japan sa internation copyright laws(not 100%). pero kung yung servers mo ay nasa japan, good luck nalang sayo.

also, kung na notice mo kapag nag download ka sa kissanime, nasa youtube lahat ng uploads nila. (di ko alam when nag stop ito since di na ako nag download sa KA)

Huli ako nagdownload dyan mga 2016-2017 pa yata at napansin ko nga na sa googlevideo na domain nadaan ang download (kaya mabilis tapos resumable pa ahahaha, nadali nga lang nung nahuli). Di rin naman galing sa kanila yung mga original nyan. Parang sa tingin ko ay hinahardcode lang nila yung mga softcoded na mga release sa torrent (galing sa Horriblesubs, etc). Dahil baka kaya nahuli ay na-DCMA dahil nakahost sa Google (blogspot sa image /manga at googlevideo sa video/anime) = katay ni Google = wala na finish na. Aking hula lang yan galing rin sa pagbabasa-basa ko sa dramang yan, di rin ako sigurado.
