This is an excerpt from a catholic priest:

“Oh God, be merciful to me, a sinner.” You can’t go wrong with this prayer. It is a prayer we must pray every day, our constant chant as we journey on to God’s heart. Please don’t forget this prayer. If you do, you may become proud and lose your way.

It is in humility and in sincere prayer that we know who we really are, that’s why it is so important to listen, really listen to God. Some people pray a lot, but go on with their bad habits. Why? That’s because in prayer, they talk a lot to God, but do not really listen to Him. Nothing in you is changing? Maybe because you are not really and truly listening to Him.

This is an answer to my previous post: https://phcorner.org/threads/780555/

Sincerity is indeed good. However, no one can attest to that sincerity but yourself alone. People can wear and show all kinds of faces in public, priests included.

Last time, my mom asked me to pray and to to church (she's a devout catholic btw).

Ano yun theatre, may entrance fee?

Iyan ba ang paraan ng pang-akit, ang kikilan ang mga members?

BTW, catholic church is one of the richest organizations in the world. It even has its own bank.

Sincerity and humility are virtuous traits. But, in my opinion not having faith in any of these religions/bible does not imply I'm being frivolous o palalo o hambog. It's just that I truly believe that I understand things better through logical scrutiny.

people's problem is they always look at negative things. yun mga church goers ay sinners din. yun mga priests are not perfect too. but we look beyond those things. the priest, the church and the sermons are like reminders that God is hosting us a chance and a place to pray and to hear more on what God is personally telling us. yun mga bagay na panira yun yun mga bagay na ngpapalayo at nagbibigay noise for us to hear better and understand more God's personal message sa isa't isa. kung open-minded ka eh try mo din maging open-hearted.

We can talk about things that are all holy and good until our faces turn blue. But without seeing/observing/manifesting all these good and holy talks, then they weigh nothing. It's just that. Words. And words are cheap.

it's about the faithful and his God. you should not just look at what God is for others. mas maganda po siguro if you look at what God is for you ifever you started that relationship. again personal relationship po ito. personal communication niyo ni God. deep relationship. deep talking. yun mga sermon ng pari is just a help for you to build that relationship with God.

"That’s because in prayer, they talk a lot to God, but do not really listen to Him. Nothing in you is changing? Maybe because you are not really and truly listening to Him."

I'd rather meditate and discover the inner nature of man. What makes you you. How your mind create thoughts. Those are more tangible, realistic and relevant issues. Those that you can actually feel and relate. Because it is an issue about you and your nature and not anybody else's.
