Normally, ang Engineer title is bestowed upon to any one who has completed a Bachelor's degree. Pero ang mas malaking tanong dito, is kung sa sarili ba ng isang practitioner ay confident sya and he honestly can say that "I'm a competent engineer". Marami kasi sa atin, nakatapos lang pero kulang sa competence.

So to answer your question and in my opinion, an engineer is someone who has the curiosity, intelligence and competence to produce and invent something irregardless of education.

iba po ang ComSci sa ComEng
ComEng - Computer engineering is a branch of engineering that integrates several fields of computer science and electronic engineering required to develop computer hardware and software

ComSci - Computer Science is the study of computers and computational systems. Unlike electrical and computer engineers, computer scientists deal mostly with software and software systems

and the term engineer doesn't mean scientific at all times (unless metallurgical engineering, ECE, may sinusunod sila) because of field study, computer engineering ay technical dahil pabago pabago ang methodologies throughout the
day even a year, ComEng also don't have real life situation, unlike nurses, may praticum sila, may binubuhay sila, tao ang sinasalba, meanwhile sa mga ganitong practicum (OJT ang tawag), ang computer is can be formed again by technology (can be manmade), pati algorithms is also man-made, software is also man-made that is why technical ang ComEng

anyway engineering is only a fragment, walang kulay, magaling lang, yun lang ang description, pero san ka magaling, yan ang dugtungin mo, because you cant distinguish kung engineering lang ang sinabi mo, like engineering of what, baka sa engineering mo, feeling mo lang may alam ka (google lang ang alam), yan ang sagot ko sa opinion mo

You are splitting hair here, and performing some fantastic word acrobatics.

Let us say you are a computer engineer, and your job is to integrate systems from various fields of computer science. Is that not a technical endeavor? If it not, what do you call it?

yes it is a technical endeavor, because you applied two things, integrating the framework (ComEng ang gumawa) and the core (ComSci ang gumawa) itself (for example), but why it is not scientific? because the core didnt show or display itself (because inject mo lang sya, whatever movement commands you make), and yung ginawa mong program (in the core), instead, e.aapply mo sya to framework that makes it go function

Ho hum....

hi. im a computer engineering graduate here. actually mas nacoconect ko yun engineering on designing hardwares na may programming sa software. kunwari project study ko is "Paper Vending Machine". Of course computer science or IT or IS courses cannot design that kasi may engineering/hardwares sa paggawa ng machine.

well on the topic of the ts, sobrang wide ang computer engineering and totoo walang board exam. when you find yourself looking for a job, what company looks depends on the technology/standards knowledge they need. for example my server work needed they need Microsoft license. or another you are going to work for a Cisco hardwares. eh need naman dun ng Cisco license.

on the side of having the engineer title...sa real business, engineer ka lang if may engineer ka na posisyon. for example Network Engineer or Site Instrumentation Engineer where ComEng grads can work.
