🔒 Closed Is the Philippine education system ready for Industrial Revolution?

In an opinion column written by Andrew J. Masigan for Business World, he said that for our country to leapfrog in industrial revolution, "we need a revolution in our attitudes towards the sciences, a massive improvement in our educational curricula and a shift in priorities in the way we appropriate the national (government) budget."

I personally agree! Schools, with the help of the government, should invest more in research and technological innovation to keep up with other countries that are way more advanced than the Philippines.

Your thoughts on this?

Tama ka at sana pataasin naman nila sahod ng mga di regular sa trabaho kawawa naman kasi kaming mga manggagawang nagtratrabaho at naghahanap ng trabaho grabe kasi limang taon yung course ko na tinapus, tapus sweldo ko lang ay 15k lang per month d ako maka ipon lahat nababayad sa rent ng apartment,tubig,kuryente insurance,sss, pag-ibig fund,tax at pagkain. I truly agree pero like sa schools, most still use the traditional textbooks while only a few uses tablets. Mejo malayo layo pa towards innovation pg dating sa education though there are now some online classes.

I also agree with this. Dapat habang moving forward to digital transformation, nakikisabay din yung schools dito since sila yung training ground ng mga students. The government should be the first one to take initiative and then ask for help nalang of other institutions. They should all work together.

as far as i know Philippine government is also focusing on the education marami na ring ways na nagawa ang mga teachers to teach their students tulad ng site na ginagamit namin nakalimutan ko kung ano siya pero dun naglalagay ng assignment yung teacher namin and then sasagutan na lang namin which i think is ineffective kasi maraming distractions pag gumagawa sila ng assignments at hindi ganoon na seseryoso ang naturang course o assignment as of now nagagamit naman an modern technology sa pagtuturo yun lang hindi ganoon ka effective para sakin is dapat systematic yung paggamit ng technology sa pagtuturo at dadagdagan ang kaalaman ng guro at estudyante sa paggamit ng mga computer

I agree. Hindi tayo pwede magstay kung nasaan tayo ngayon forever. Kasi walang forever chos!! In all seriously, kailangan din natin mag-adjust or else mapapagiwanan lang tayo. So dapat yung may kakayahan na mag-invest, sana gawin nila. The government, their private partners, should all work together.

Agree. The situation in Philippines is abysmal to say the least. Real progress is an impossibility due to deep-rooted social, political problems we have. How many pinoys would even care what is going on with our society? Nadinig mo ba pinag-usapan ang nangyayari sa environment, ang nagibang kagubatan at ilog na pakana ng mga pulitiko at kasapakat nito? Mas mabuti pa ang tsismis sa facebook at pag-uusapan. So, no. Progress won't happen.

1.bakit mga public schools 3 sessions buong araw, ( morning afternoon night shifts ) meaning di pa rin ma accomodate sa sobrang dami again popoulation growth, so ano kaya expected output, yun ba tinatawag nating competent graduates?

In my own observation, 2 primary factors brought us into this pitiful situation: a) deep-rooted corruption by the government; b) ignorance of the populace.
