What is a Visual Novel​

A visual novel is like watching an anime except much longer, to the point that you can live in it.
The best way to understand how these things play is to just see them in action:​

They are a hybrid between a novel and a computer game. Usually they are voiced and your choices determine the story.

Setting your Windows System Locale to Japanese
A lot of Japanese games require that you change your system locale to JP, this is how you do it - make sure to follow the instructions for your version of Windows.

For Windows XP

1. Go to the Control Panel
2. Click on Regional and Language Options
3. Click the Advanced tab, go to "Language for non-Unicode Programs", and select"Japanese (Japan)" from the drop-down menu.
4. Click OK
5. Restart your computer

1. Go to the Control Panel
2. Click on Clock, Language and Region

Summary: Ever17 is the tale of seven individuals who come to be trapped 153 feet within the underwater marine theme park, LeMU. In addition, LeMU is under constant assault by severe water pressure, limiting time to find a means of escape to 119 hours. Escape is not the only concern, however; many questions arise as to the legitimacy of the accident and whether or not those trapped there were brought there for a purpose.

Summary: In the end of WWII world, the demons in Japan are forced to make a decision in regards to the changes Japan is undergoing:

1) To remain as demons and watch over the land
2) To return to the netherworld or
3) To give up their power and status as demons and live amongst humans.

While there were some that chose otherwise, the majority of the demons decided it was best for everyone to go with option 3.
It was tough, but as time passed these demons were able to blend in with the human world and live peacefully amongst them. However, blood is thicker than water.
The offsprings of these demons displayed powerful abilities superior than man and was labeled by society as Jinyous. Of these Jinyous, most were sent to Kamizawa City: an isolated city to keep all the Jinyous together. Moreover, the ones that were deemed dangerous were sent to an uncharted island.

Takabe Ryouichi was one that was sent to said island at the age of 5. This is a story about him along with Suzu, his only friend on the island, escaping to Kamizawa city to live a normal life. What they didn't expect, was that Suzu carried a secret that attracted much unwanted attention.

This game consists of two parts: Muv-Luv Extra and Muv-Luv Unlimited. Unlimited is unlocked after you get the endings of the two main heroines (Sumika and Meiya) in Extra.

Muv-Luv Extra:
Shirogane Takeru is a typical high school student with a lazy attitude and a love for the virtual reality mecha battle game Valgern-on. Even though he didn’t really wanted it, he is popular in school mainly due to his daily fights with his osananajimi (Sumika) attracting too much attention. His life takes an unexpected turn when he finds a girl (Meiya) he doesn’t remember ever meeting in his bed one morning. Whom later revealed to be the heiress of one of the biggest zaibatsu. She immediately moves to his house and starts changing his life for the good with her one-track-mind and unlimited resources…

Muv-Luv Extra, the main part of Muv-Luv, takes place in the same world (and general area) as Kimi ga Nozomu Eien and Kimi ga Ita Kisetsu. The Sky Temple family restaurant is mentioned and visited, and Suzumiya Akane makes an appearance.

Muv-Luv Unlimited:
One day Takeru wakes up late, wondering why Sumika or Meiya didn’t wake him up this morning. Not seeing any signs of them he gets a bit worried and goes out of his house to only see the town he lived all his life in ruins. After getting past the initial shock he decides that this must be a dream and decides to enjoy it as much as he can…

Cho Dengeki Stryker​

Yuuki Yamato has modeled his young life after the super heroes he loves. When his best friend Haruna is teased by bullies, he always tries to defend her — but his life is not a comic book, and things never work out as planned.

One day, after yet another failure, Haruna tells Yamato that she is moving away. She asks him to come and see her off, but Yamato — his pride still wounded — cannot find the courage to face her. When Yamato is feeling his lowest, an old man appears before him. He is known as the Memory Collector, and he will grant one wish in exchange for a memory. Yamato makes his wish: to become Dengeki Stryker, his favorite comic book hero.

Years later, an army of cyborgs from the Balbora Empire appear in the city where Haruna now lives. With the police and the army powerless against the Empire’s mechanical might, it falls to a single hero to stop them — a hero who looks remarkably like Dengeki Stryker!

Now in his second year of high school they still hang out, fight and live together, and enjoy their school life.

Little Busters! contains several mini-games, including a baseball practice game and a duel battle system.
