When your desktop icon has a background color like this

and you want to make it transparent like this


Try This Simple Step...


Right Click My Computer icon on desktop, Click on Properties

On Properties Click the Advance tab, under Performance click setting

Under Visual Effects tab click the custom and find the checkbox containing "Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop"

uncheck it and then check it again..then click OK and click OK
