Simply put, failure of the government. We try to be democratic but democracy ain't for us....yet.

We have to change to social democracy
Politicians have no reaction at all.
And the remaining politicians of the military dictatorship
It is the people who slaughtered civilians of South Korea.

Are there any answers from the perspective of the Filipinos?

Those countries are discipline except to china i guess.

-Terrorist Insurgency
-Lazy Ass Hacienderos/Feudal Lord not wanting new way of diversifying its income by investing on agriculture development.
-Corruption culture
-Extreme heat on summer season
-Regionalism, the hate towards tagalogs vice versa.
-Fanaticism
-Lots of political killing
-Dozens of Typhoon passes each year and it destroys livelihood, properties and lives.
-Brain Drain, lots of professionals and skilled workers choose to work abroad.
-Crab Mentality
-Consumer culture economy
-Get triggered when hears and read "Nationalism" and gets PTSD as if he/she was also been tortured by the Philippine Constabulary.
-Not thrifty culture
