Yung windows loader activ-ator works only for bioses with SLIC (Software Licensing Description Table) lang. In my experience kase, bootloop ang result nyan if ang bios is from a fully customized rig with no OEM branding
However, like you said it is the easiest and uses the least amount of PC resources kase it is loaded while windows boots and does not run any scheduling of reactivation. It essentially tricks the OS na genuine factory-installed yung OS mo, so it will be activated. So hindi na mawawala yung activ-ation mo unlike sa kms emulators na pwedeng ma detect and ma block ng mga antivirus.
So yes, I most recommend it for laptops which almost always contain an OEM SLIC in their bioses.
