"KAROSHI" - Defined as "Death from Overwork"

In Japan, deaths due to overwork hit a record high in 2016. Roughly 20% of Japanese workers are at risk of "karoshi". This is pervasive in Japan but are you at risk? New findings on CIRCADIAN RHYTHMS say "YES".

All life forms regulate BODY CLOCKS using the sun. Vital proteins degrade during the day and replenish during the night. This process controls mood, metabolism and more. In the modern world, people set their hours.

In Japan (and Philippines), many log more than 100 overtime hours every month. Other cultures seem to be adapting a similar restless lifestyle.

Leading scientists have argued that sleep deprivation is FATAL. Poor sleep can cause obesity, heart disease and cancer.

Japanese officials are now starting to address "karoshi". But this discovery is a very important reminder for all of us.

GET SOME SLEEP guys! We are meant to sleep during the night.

Uso yan sa Japan kasi workaholic ang mga tao doon. Eh dito baka magkaganyan lang kakapuyat sa FB or kakalaro ng computer games. XD

Not really guys. Those working on shifts are susceptible. There are establishments that operate 24/7 and there are the BPOs. Overwork simply mean working beyond 8 hours a day and working during nights wherein your body is not coping up with the replenishment of those proteins that gets spent during the day.Not really guys.
