Encrypt a folder or file

Right-click the folder or file you want to encrypt and then click > PropertiesClick the General tab, and then click > AdvancedSelect > Encrypt contents to secure data check box, click OK and then OK again

Decrypt a folder or file

Right-click the folder or file your want to decrypt and then click > Properties Click the General tab, and then click > AdvancedClear > Encrypt contents to secure data check box, click OK and then OK again

If you are familiar with the Windows Registry you might want to save on the clicks. This Registry häçk will add an encrypt option to the right-click menu in Windows Explorer:

Go to USER – follow path Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\AdvancedCreate a new DWORD called > EncryptionContextMenu and give it a value of 1

You should now be able to right-click a folder or file and see the Encrypt option. If you have already encrypted the folder or file you will see a Decrypt option instead.
