PHSmart to start charging Php2 per 1MB this November 28
Smart has announced last week that they will be changing their default data charging rate from Php5 for 15 minutes to Php2 for every 1MB. This is effective November 28, 2017. The new Php2/MB rate now removes the default time-based charging for all Smart Postpaid accounts.
"We are enhancing our pay-per-use data billing model of Php 5 for every 15 minutes of data consumed to Php 2 for every 1MB consumed. With this enhancement, we will be able to better serve you and your data needs. Please read below to know the new benefits, features, and change in postpaid experience โ Effective November 28, 2017"
All existing Smart postpaid comes with an Add-on Data Plan. If the data allocation for the plan has been completely depleted, subscribers may choose to (1) subscribe to another data add-on plan OR (2) enroll to the Php2/MB default data rate by texting DATA ON to 9999.
You get notifications when your Php2/MB usage reaches Php500, Php1,000 and Php2,000 amount. The additional charges stop at Php2,500 so you wonโt pay for data more than this amount. Technically, you will get unlimited data at Php2,500. However, your speed will be throttled to just 128Kbps until the end of the billing cycle.
