1. Launch Internet Download Manager if you are not currently running it. Click "Downloads" on the Internet Download Manager menu bar and go to "Speed Limiter." Click "Turn off" to ensure that future downloads will maximize your connection's speed.
2. Go back to the "Downloads" menu and click "Options." Go to the "Connection" tab and set the "Connection Type/Speed" to "LAN 10Mbs" so the program will use more of your connection's bandwidth for downloading files. Set the "Default max. conn. number" setting to "8" which is a good setting to optimize download speeds without stressing the server hosting the file. Click the "OK" button to close the configuration window and apply the settings.
3.Close any other running applications that might be using your Internet connection, such as browsers with active downloads or programs that actively fetch data online. Download a file using Internet Download Manager or resume a download in your queue and close your Internet browser once again to notice the speed increase.
