Siguro naman lahat tayong owners ng B315s-936 modems ay nakita na yung USB port sa dulong hilera nung mga LAN ports. Oo, bukod yata sa pag-unlock nung modem eh, hindi na yata natin nagalaw yun (That is, kung inunlock natin yung modem natin).
This is a step-by-step tutorial on using a flashdrive on that port using the so called SAMBA server. Kasi kailangan pa syang i-configure para magamit. This is my first thread, though.
I. Why bother:
Pwedeng mabrowse lahat ng files sa flashdrive na nakaconnect* sa modem ng lahat** ng device na nakaconnect sa modem – through LAN man or Wifi.
Pwedeng*** magcopy ng files mula sa pc or phone papunta roon sa flashdrive na naka connect sa wifi.
* Tested and working on Windows PC and Android devices (ES File Explorer). Not Working on windows 10 mobile, yet. not sure on iOS. Di ko lang po alam sa Mac OS
** Given na ibibigay mo sa mga WiFi users ang credentials ng SAMBA Server. Hindi naman ibig sabihin na connected kapitbahay sa wifi nyo, makikita na nya agad laman ng flashdrive na nakaconnect dyan. Maliban na lang kung kalikutin nya yung mismong setup page para alamin ang password. So for enhanced security, change your WiFi login password
*** May access rights ang mga pwedeng gawing accounts sa samba server (more on that later)
II. Why don’t bother:
Kung hindi naman kailangan o gusto, bakit pa? diba?
Hindi ko alam kung supported ito ng hindi pa nauunlocked na mga modems.
III. What you Need:
1. Yung router
2. PC (Pwede namang gawin sa CP kaso PC yung gamit ko eh. Sa web browser naman sya gagawin kaya kaya ng CP, tyagaan lang)
3. Flashdrive. (Paki saksak na roon sa usb port sa router). Hindi ko po alam kung supported ang NTFS external hard drives gawa po nang hindi supported yung flashdrive ko na NTFS ang partition (ginawa ko pong pangreformat yun dati kaya binalik ko po sa FAT32 para gumana roon).
IV. Setting Things Up
(Disclaimer: Actually, meron nito sa help section ng mismong router. Just click Help sa tabi ng Login and click sharing files using SAMBA. Ginawa ko lang ito para palawigin pa ang mga sinasabi roon. If you are technical in nature, better see that one. So credits goes to that help page.

1. Connect to the configuration page of the WiFi network.
2. Click Sharing.
3. Log in using your credentials. (Actually, maalin sa 2 or 3 ang mauna.)
4. Check nyo yung Enable Samba Sharing. Tapos Close nyo yung pop up na nagsasabing “Success” . Tapos click nyo yung User Settings na nasa ibaba ng “Samba Server”
5. Follow nyo lang yung tut sa 4th Picture.
a. Sa Number 2,
The user name cannot contain the following characters: \ & / " [ ] : | < > + = ; , ? * @ ` $ 'Do not use "root", "support", "admin", "nobody", or "anonymous" as your user name. The user name cannot start with a number or underline (_).
b. Ang password ay minimum of 8
c. Ang usage rights ay pwedeng read only or read/write (Understandable by names)
d. Ang directory ay pwedeng set to custom or all. All ang sinelect ko.
Pakitandaan po ng username at password.
6. Click nyo lang yung apply sa lower right. Tapos OK doon sa pop up na lalabas to confirm. See 6th pic.
7. Click windows button+r to open run command. Type nyo yung dalawang slash tapos yung ip ng router nyo (i.e. \\192.168.8.1) then hit enter.
8. May magpapop up na prompt na maghahanap ng credentials nyo. I-enter nyo lang yung username at password na nilagay nyo kanina sa settings.
9. Browse Content na.
V. Sa Android naman.
Para mabrowse yung laman ng flashdrive, ang gamit ko ay ES File Explorer. Mas recommended ko yung lumang versions nya. Yung walang ads. Pero latest yung gamit ko rito sa tut na ito. Para mas madali, yung bagong version ang gamitin nyo para makasabay kayo rito.
1. Click nyo yung hamburger menu sa upper left ng app para lumabas yung menu.
2. Hanapin nyo yung LAN
3. Click nyo yung Scan sa ibaba.
