HEART OF MINE


I sometimes feel the stabbing pain,

The loneliness, the tears you've hidden;

Even wondered how you have survived,

And kept all your hopes alive.


Deep in the night I could hear,

Your sobs as they float in the air;

And I asked ' Why have you suffered?'

Will you stay calm and unafraid?'


As the sun rises at daybreak,

I marveled ' How long will it take?'

Will hope spring just in time,

For you to heal, broken heart of mine?'
