Good news sa mga open-source devs dyan: may official program ang Anthropic (yung company behind Claude) na nagbibigay ng 6 months ng Claude Max 20x nang libre sa mga maintainers at contributors. Pero hindi siya para sa lahat, may specific requirements. Kaya sinagot ko na yung mga usual na tanong

Ano 'to?
Thank-you program 'to ng Anthropic para sa mga nagme-maintain at nagko-contribute sa open source. Pag na-approve ka, 6 months kang naka-Claude Max 20x, yung highest individual plan nila. Sa official pricing, $200/month siya (USD, web price). Kasama dito yung Claude Code, kaya pwede mo siyang gamitin sa coding, debugging, code review, at mas malalaking dev tasks. Ang usage niya, 20x ng Pro plan per 5-hour session.

Libre ba talaga?

• Oo, walang bayad yung base Max 20x subscription habang tumatakbo yung 6 months mo.
• Pero sabi sa terms, pwede ka pa ring ma-charge sa overages (usage na lampas sa limit) based sa standard pricing nila. I-check mo yung usage settings mo para walang surprise.
• Subscription yung binibigay, hindi API credits.
• Pagkatapos ng 6 months, mag-e-expire siya at hindi auto-renew. Kung may ρáíd plan ka dati, naka-pause lang yung billing mo, at babalik yun sa dating plan at rate mo unless i-cancel mo. Mag-e-email sila at least 30 days bago bumalik yung billing. Kung free account ka, balik ka lang sa Free plan.
• Wala siyang cash value at di pwedeng i-convert sa pera.

Sino pwede mag-apply?
Kailangan pasok ka sa kahit isa dito (Maintainer Track):

• Yung mga project mo, may total na 500+ dependent repos o 100+ dependent packages (based sa GitHub dependency graph o public package registry)
• Yung mga package mo, may total na 200,000+ monthly downloads sa kahit anong public registry (npm, PyPI, crates.io, RubyGems, Packagist, Maven, etc.)
• Listed committer o maintainer ka ng recognized foundation o language project, like CPython, Rust team, Node.js TSC, Apache PMC, CNCF, Kubernetes, Linux kernel, Django, o Rails
• May 100+ merged PRs ka sa public repos na hindi sa'yo, sa last 12 months
• May repo kang may 20+ unique external contributors na may merged PRs, sa last 12 months
• May repo kang may OpenSSF criticality score na 0.4 pataas

Di pasok sa mga 'yan? May Ecosystem Impact Track. Kung may minemaintain kang project na dinedependan ng maraming ibang projects, pwede ka pa ring mag-apply basta i-explain mo kung bakit important yung project. Case-by-case ang review dito.

Kailangan din pasok ka sa lahat ng 'to:

• Individual ka, hindi company o organization
• 18 pataas ka
• Legal resident ka ng country na may Claude.ai access. Pasok ang Philippines sa list.
• Yung GitHub account mo, at least 2 years old at in good standing
• May public open-source activity ka (commits, PRs, reviews, o releases) sa last 90 days
• May project kang naka-OSI-approved license (MIT, Apache 2.0, BSD, GPL, etc.)
• Hindi ka employee o contractor ng Anthropic, at hindi rin kapamilya o kasama sa bahay ng isa sa kanila

Anong catch?

• Hanggang 10,000 approved recipients lang (pwede nilang dagdagan), at pwede nilang isara yung program anytime.
• Kahit pasok ka sa requirements, di pa rin guaranteed. Sila pa rin magde-decide, at final na yung decision.
• Email lang pag approved ka, at walang fixed na timeline yung review. Kaya kung wala ka pang natatanggap, di ibig sabihin na rejected ka na.
• Wag mag-submit ng paulit-ulit. Hindi nito pabibilisin yung review, at baka ma-disregard pa as duplicate.
• Isang subscription lang per tao, kahit ibang email o account pa gamitin mo.
• Pag approved, may activation link sa email ng GitHub account mo. I-activate within 90 days, kundi mawawala.
• Personal use lang. Bawal i-share, ibenta, o ipagamit yung account.
• Pwede ka nilang i-name publicly as recipient (name, GitHub username, at projects mo).
• Bawal mag-padding ng stats (bot accounts, fake o trivial PRs, binayarang engagement). Pwede kang ma-disqualify o ma-revoke.

Safe ba? Legit ba 'to?

• Official program 'to ng Anthropic. Nasa claude.com yung application page, at nasa anthropic.com yung Terms.
• Mag-sign in ka with GitHub sa form. Sabi sa terms, ginagamit nila yung GitHub email mo, public GitHub at package registry data, dependency graph, OpenSSF scores, at yung sagot mo sa form para i-check kung pasok ka.
• Hindi ka raw idadagdag sa marketing emails unless mag-opt in ka.
• Ingat sa mga GitHub repo, site, o "tool" na nangangakong free Claude Max. Hindi 'yan yung official program. Sa official page lang mag-apply, at wag ibigay password mo kahit kanino.

1. I-check muna kung pasok ka sa kahit isang criteria sa taas, plus lahat ng general requirements.
2. Buksan yung official page (link sa baba) at doon mag-apply.
3. Mag-sign in with GitHub.
4. Sagutan yung form: email mo, short description kung paano mo gagamitin yung subscription, at explanation (max 500 words) kung bakit ka pasok. Kung Ecosystem Impact Track ka, dito mo i-explain kung bakit important yung project mo.
5. Hintayin yung email. Rolling review siya.
6. Pag approved, i-activate yung link within 90 days. Tip: i-note mo sa calendar kung kailan matatapos yung 6 months.
