Hello and welcome to this poetry writing course.
Here you will find over an hour of video-material to introduce the core principles of poetry writing. There are also many practical exercises to stimulate your creativity and help you find your own voice for poetry writing.
The chapters we will discuss are the following
1. Finding inspiration and a theme
2. Figures of speech
3. Rhythm and musicality
4. Different poetry forms
5. Sensory poems, synesthesia and metaphor
6. Editing and corrections
7. Presenting and publishing
Thus, this course will guide you through the entire cycle of poetry writing, from warm-up exercises and the finding of inspiration, through different writing styles and techniques, all the way up to presenting and publishing your own collection.
There are no prerequirements to participate in the course; it is for anybody interested in the topic of poetry writing and editing.
My name is Ellen Renneboog, I am a licensed psychologist, accredited trainer and published author. I have published a poetry collection in French in 2025.
