Designed for aspiring healthcare business analysts, healthcare IT professionals, clinical informaticists, project team members, and anyone working at the intersection of healthcare and technology, this course delivers a hands-on, project-based understanding of how interoperability works, what it requires, and how a BA drives it from requirements to go-live.
Your instructor, Mohamad Kammoun, brings more than three decades of experience in technology, healthcare, telecommunications, software development, and business analysis. He holds a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Boston University and has worked with organizations including AT&T, Verizon, Merck, Elsevier, American Eagle Outfitters, and Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. His experience spans healthcare interoperability, enterprise systems, interface design, security architecture, AI integration, and end-to-end project delivery.
Throughout the course, you'll follow a single end-to-end case study - the North Valley Health System Interoperability Gateway - producing real project deliverables at every stage. You'll explore HL7 v2 message structures, FHIR R4 resources and REST APIs, OAuth 2.0 and SMART on FHIR security, AI-ready data pipelines, business continuity planning, and the full project delivery lifecycle including UAT, traceability, and go-live cutover.
By the end of this course, you will be able to
