🕯️ Traditions Tinguian Stories Were Traditionally Told Around Village Fires

Among the Tinguian, traditional stories from the mythical period were historically shared during gatherings around bonfires, particularly during the dry season.

While people gathered, women might spin cotton while men worked on fishing nets or repaired tools.

Storytellers entertained the group by recounting tales about earlier times. The storyteller did not necessarily receive payment, but knowledge of these stories gave the person considerable respect in the community.

Storytelling therefore functioned as both entertainment and a way of preserving cultural knowledge.
