In southwestern Madagascar, Tsapiky is a fast-paced musical tradition combining modern and traditional sounds. Performances can feature electric guitars, drums, accordions, and local instruments such as the kabosy and marovany.

Lyrics may address everyday life, love, and social issues. Tsapiky is performed at many important events, including weddings, funerals, festivals, and ceremonies.

Young musicians commonly learn by watching and practicing with experienced performers. The music is also associated with intense dancing and emotional release within community gatherings.

UNESCO inscribed Tsapiky on its Representative List in 2025
