Game Overview​

A vast desert moves like an ocean, turning every dune, ridge, and crumbling ruin into a line worth carving. Sword Of The Sea is an atmospheric adventure built around speed, flow, and the strange beauty of a world whose true sea has vanished beneath the sand. Players control the Wraith, revived in the solemn ruins of the Necropolis and driven to uncover what happened to an ancient civilization. The mood balances peaceful, almost spiritual movement with an undercurrent of mystery and danger beneath the shifting landscape.

Traversal centers on the Hoversword, a versatile board that combines the feel of surfing, snowboarding, and skateboarding. You race down enormous sand waves, build speed across open terrain, launch from crests and ramps, then chain flips, spins, grabs, wall rides, and halfpipe-style tricks in ruins designed for movement. Progress comes through pushing farther into diverse regions, including deserts and glacial mountains, while locating hidden remnants of the past and bringing life back to barren spaces. Restoring the buried ocean changes the environment from dry dunes to shining water, with schools of sea creatures returning as the world becomes more alive.

Its greatest strength is the way freeform tricking serves exploration rather than existing as a separate score-chasing mode. Sand behaves like a constantly rolling sea, making even simple travel feel dynamic and giving the world a distinctive, fluid visual identity. The project carries the contemplative visual language associated with ABZÛ, Journey, and The Pathless, but trades walking and gliding for a faster, more E×ρréššive board-riding rhythm.
